2022 Carolinas Youth Mentoring Symposium

Join youth development experts from across the country for the 2022 Carolinas Youth Mentoring Symposium on Saturday, November 12.

The Carolinas Youth Mentoring Symposium is back and better than ever!

The Carolinas Youth Mentoring Symposium is an annual gathering that brings together mentoring practitioners, researchers, philanthropic investors, youth leaders, government and civic leaders, and others interested in exploring how to expand mentoring initiatives that promote the health and well-being of young people and families most impacted by systems of oppression.

This year's symposium will feature topics that elevate the power of identity-affirming mentoring relationships, provide practitioners with practical tools and knowledge to bring to their work, and introduce a youth track with opportunities for young people to explore their potential.

NEW THIS YEAR

Young people and mentoring organizations have navigated unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, with black and brown youth and BIPOC-led agencies being the most impacted by its devastating effects. Despite this, young people and mentoring programs across the country have boldly adjusted to the realities of life under COVID-19, demonstrating strength, resilience, and courage in the face of adversity.

Join us to collaborate, build relationships, and reflect on what is necessary to maintain “The Courage to Thrive”—even when times are tough.

“Show me a successful individual, and I’ll show you someone who had real positive influences in his or her life. I don’t care what you do for a living — if you do it well, I’m sure there was someone cheering you on or showing the way. A mentor.” - Denzel Washington

CYMS Program Partners

Your Support Makes Our Programming Possible

Without your support, our programming would not be possible. More than 75% of our current partners are local grassroots movements that don't have the capacity to work on their organizations and this is where our work comes in! Through free consulting services, we are providing critical support that builds our partners' capacity to meet their mission and run quality programming. Research shows that when a program strengthens key areas, it leads to better outcomes for the youth they serve.
